Access to healthy food is not just a privilege for those with excess time and money, but rather a right for everyone.
We strive to meet three basic needs with every meal we share:
Access: In order to give the most people possible access to healthy food, we have divided up the responsibilities involved with obtaining, preparing, and serving fresh ingredients. By doing this, we are able to not only share the expenses, but also the time required to prepare a quality meal.
Community: Sharing in the work and pleasure connected with food builds a stronger community. Spending time preparing a meal with others, while having quality casual conversations, perpetuates cohesion and cooperation among members.
Education: Through this organization, we hope to learn skills from our peers that help us prepare nutritious and palatable foods, while fostering self-sufficiency, and empowerment amongst individuals and the group as a whole.
